Megan Moroney - No Caller ID

After teasing this song on her social media accounts, Megan Moroney has finally released her latest single, “No Caller ID”. The song paints a picture that unfortunately too many people can relate to: you’ve just gotten out of a relationship, finally start moving on and feeling good again, then who’s to call but you-know-who.

Moroney could record the dictionary, and I think it would still be a masterpiece, but her heartbreaking lyrics paired with her authentic, raspy voice elevates this song to another level. Fans love her for her agonizingly accurate depiction of life and love as a young woman (or man), and I believe that this single fits in nicely among her discography accolades.

Megan shared on her story that this song, written by Connie Harrington, Jessi Alexander, Jessie Jo Dillon, and the woman herself, was started and completed in about 30 minutes. I love it when artists share behind-the-scenes facts like this because it gives you a good idea of what brought the song to life. While all artists and their writing styles are different, and sometimes a song takes months to complete, I feel like I have noticed that some of my favorite songs, and arguably some of the best songs of all time (ie Dolly’s rumors of Jolene and I Will Always Love You), were written in a similar time frame. That’s just evidence that sometimes, the best songs come pouring out of your heart if the message is there, and you have some talented friends who piece it all together. No Caller Id also surpassed 700K streams in just two days of its release.

While we all impatiently wait for the release of the next album, you can catch her on tour with Kenny Chesney in 2024 alongside Uncle Kraker, or see her at one of her festival appearances this year. In the meantime, I’ll keep this song on repeat until the next song teases on TikTok.
