Ben Chapman Steps Into a New Chapter With Soulful Southern Rock Anthem “Everything’s Different”

For Nashville roots rocker Ben Chapman, 2025 wasn’t just another year on the road; it was a life-altering season that reshaped everything.

Within ten months, Chapman learned he was going to be a father, married fellow singer-songwriter Meg McRee in the spring, and welcomed their first child in September. That whirlwind of love, growth, and responsibility now fuels his latest single, “Everything’s Different,” released today via Soundly Music, and it marks the beginning of a new era in both his life and his music. Written alongside McRee and Bryan Simpson, the track feels deeply personal without losing its universal pull. Built on a timeless Southern rock foundation, “Everything’s Different” leans into jangling piano, warm organ swells, and Chapman’s signature fluid guitar work. It’s reflective without being heavy, the kind of song that understands change doesn’t always arrive with fireworks; sometimes it settles in quietly and shifts your entire world.

“In a way this song was kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy,” Chapman shared. “When we wrote it, the hurricane that was approaching my life hadn’t hit just yet… Even though 2025 changed everything, sometimes I still feel like the same kid trying to navigate it all.”

That tension, between who you were and who you’re becoming, is what makes the song resonate. It captures that strange space where adulthood accelerates, but your inner voice still feels young, hopeful, and a little unsure.

The single also reunites Chapman with GRAMMY-nominated songwriter and producer Anderson East, following their work together on Chapman’s 2024 album Downbeat. East’s Alabama roots shine here, blending seamlessly with Chapman’s affinity for R&B grooves, Stax-inspired soul, psych-rock textures, and jam-band spontaneity reminiscent of the Allman Brothers. The result is expansive yet intimate, Southern rock with depth and heart.

Beyond his solo work, Chapman continues to cement himself as one of Nashville’s most respected collaborators. He’s worked with Muscadine Bloodline, Hayes Carll, and power couple Adam Chaffins and Brit Taylor, while his streaming hit “Gone As It Gets” has surpassed 3.5 million Spotify streams. His songwriting has also been recorded by Brent Cobb, Shelby Lynne, and Flatland Cavalry, proof that his pen is just as sharp as his guitar playing.

Chapman is also featured in the 2026 music documentary Ten Year Town, which follows nine Nashville singer-songwriters through pivotal seasons of their careers. After premiering at Nashville’s Belcourt Theatre earlier this month, the film further underscores Chapman’s standing in the city’s creative community.

He celebrated this new chapter with his first Peach Jam show of 2026 at The Basement East, the acclaimed performance series he founded that has welcomed artists like Lainey Wilson, Ashley Monroe, and Kaitlin Butts. It’s fitting that “Everything’s Different” arrives in that setting: surrounded by community, creativity, and the city that helped shape him.

As Chapman steps into fatherhood, marriage, and a deeper artistic identity, “Everything’s Different” doesn’t just mark a shift; it embraces it. Growth can be messy. It can be unexpected. But sometimes, it makes for the most honest songs of your career.

And for Ben Chapman, this feels like just the beginning.
