Silverstein Continues 25 Years of Noise Tour For A Third And Final Leg

Silverstein has been touring pretty much all year, celebrating 25 years as a band. This is the third installment of dates, and from my understanding, the last part. Final warning if you haven’t gone to a show yet. Each leg has featured different openers, and I was actually at their Madison date earlier this year, so I was intrigued by the additional new tour dates of what the show would be like. Before these shows took off, they had released a dual-LP set, Antibloom and Pink Moon, so it came as not much of surprise that they debuted some of these newer songs at these shows.

The three bands that are on this part of the tour are Bloom, Free Throw, and Thursday! The first opener was the only band that I wasn’t familiar with, but they didn’t let that stop them from bringing a raging good set. I’m definitely a fan of Bloom now, and they’re on my radar. The pit was small but mighty from the get-go and only grew after that.

Free Throw played second, and I knew that the crowd was going to become even more active during their set. Crowd surfers slowly started, and about halfway through their set, it became like a rushing waterfall of surfers.

The final band to take the stage was Thursday. I caught a brief set when they played Riot Fest, I don’t remember what year. I know I didn’t have a full impression of them since their time was shorter due to rain delays on door times for Riot, so I was definitely intrigued to watch more than one song. They were clearly no strangers to the crowd as the steady stream of crowd surfers continued on through their set.

After three phenomenal openers, it was time for the main event to start. Silverstein had an introductory video play across screens on stage, lights flashing, people screaming — the anticipation was deafening. The band members came out one by one, each waving towards the fans, encouraging the excitement. They opened up their set with my favorite new releases, “Negative Space.” As usual, the first three songs went by so fast, and before I knew it, I was out of the photo pit and in the crowd. The pit grew by the minute as people surfed to their hearts’ content. Everyone was singing along to every song. Vocalist Shane Told took a few minutes during their set to thank everyone for how far they’ve come, and it wouldn’t be without the support of every single person standing there. To celebrate each year, they played at least one song from every released album, starting with the brand new and working their way backwards.

Even having attended their Madison show, this night was just as amazing, and it was so much fun to hear the new songs live. Silverstein is still on the 25 Years of Noise tour until the end of the year, so act fast if you want to make it to a show. Don’t miss out!
