Our Last Night is on the road for their FINAL tour, no, they’re not breaking up (so they say), but they are stepping back from the touring life. Every band member has a family, and they want to be able to devote more time to spending it with them. This is understandable and a very valid reason to “retire” from touring. Wonder if this means we’ll get a special tour for celebratory reasons, as this band has been around for about twenty years. They first started out covering songs, specifically turning other songs into pop punk covers if they weren’t. One of the first covers I found by them was Bye Bye Bye (Originally by *NSYNC), and it was because it features Cody Carson from Set It Off. I was blown away by it and have been a fan of this band since. I was hoping it would have been played at the show, but it was not. To be honest, I was hoping for more older covers instead of just new ones and more original songs from their earlier days. It was still an amazing show, but as a long-time fan, I was expecting more since this is kind of a goodbye show.

The openers and direct support of the tour are Wind Walkers and Grayscale. Both brought an amazing set to the stage despite the interesting light choices that made them more silhouettes on stage and harder to see. Wind Walkers had so much energy that really got the crowd warmed up, and even though I didn’t know who they were, there were clearly fans screaming along to all of their songs. The second opener, Grayscale, had been on my bucket list of bands to see live for a while, so I’m so glad that I finally got to check them off. I loved the little light-up clover they had on the side stage with their band's phone number on it.

Finally, when Our Last Night took the stage, they came out blazing. When the second Trevor Wentworth came out singing, the whole room was screaming along. It was a night of nostalgia, togetherness, and overall a celebration to this final night of live music from the band. I definitely was crying a little bit on the inside, but also the smoke cannons scared the daylights out of me since I was so close to them on stage. They made for phenomenal photos, though. I love being able to photograph shows with special effects on stage.

Overall, 10/10 night that I am incredibly thankful worked out in the night despite my forgetfulness. Chicago was only night two, and the tour literally just started, so grab a ticket and VIP upgrade before they sell out. Otherwise, you might regret missing their last tour ever!
