This show review is so delayed, and June is nearly over, but happy pride to all who celebrate! On June 8, The X-Ray Arcade hosted a Milwaukee Metal Pride Fest. That whole weekend, there were local metal bands playing for Pride month, it was just at a different venue. This all-day lineup featured a grand total of nine bands, doors were at 2 pm sharp.

Each band was so good, and I loved the different stage presence brought by each. The entire lineup, in order: Silence in Numbers, Mubus, Trash Pandas, Vacant Voice, Solshade, Twisted Truth, Surefire, Errors of Humanity, and Still Stayer.

I was there primarily for the last three bands as I had seen them perform live, and they know how to bring a good show, but I was excited to see everyone. I was most excited to see Twisted Truth because the legendary JJ Kaiser (Talentbuyer & Promoter for the venue) is in that band. He’s actually in two, and up until this very day, I had never seen either of them. I really enjoyed their set.

The entire day was a quick one as bands were sharing some equipment to make set changes move smoothly. We did deter a bit, but the overall delay between bands was about 10-15 minutes, so nothing too drastic. Outside on the patio, there are a few local vendors selling some fun items, from homemade candles to cool shirts. I was thoroughly exhausted most of the day, having had a fairly busy weekend of work shifts, but I was there, and it was so much fun.

Always support that local scene.
