This multi-level entertainment complex is as unique as it is iconic, offering multiple stages that cater to acts both small and large, with capacities ranging from intimate gatherings of 400 to roaring crowds of 4,000. The Rave Bar, a smaller showcase venue within the complex, has earned a reputation for its exceptional acoustics that make every performance feel electric. Fans often note the charm of the vintage wooden bar and the walls adorned with concert posters, a visual timeline of legendary artists who have played there, from Nirvana to Blink-182. It’s a venue that carries a sense of anticipation with every show, and its intimate setting makes it a favorite for artists introducing their music to Wisconsin. For countless musicians, including Kolby Cooper, The Rave has been the perfect stage to connect with fans on a deeply personal level while solidifying their presence in the music world.
Noah Bowman opened the night with a performance that brought the soul of Southern Oklahoma to Milwaukee. His sound, a mix of Red Dirt, Southern Rock, and Country, was carried by gritty, heartfelt vocals that immediately resonated with the growing crowd. As patrons settled into the intimate space of The Rave Bar, Bowman’s presence on stage was magnetic. His setlist was a journey through his catalog, kicking off with new material like "Thank Me Later" and transitioning seamlessly into fan favorites such as "Songs That The Birds Sing" and "Back Again."

The warmth in his voice and the unvarnished honesty of his lyrics pulled the audience in, creating a connection that felt personal, even in a room full of strangers. By the time his set was over, Bowman had left the stage to a crowd fully engaged and ready for the rest of the night, his performance proving why he’s one to watch in the Red Dirt scene.
The room buzzed with anticipation as the lights dimmed and smoke filled the air, signaling the start of Kolby Cooper’s first-ever performance in Milwaukee. With the opening notes of "Kill Me," Kolby wasted no time commanding the stage, his energy igniting an immediate response from the crowd. Fans raised their voices and fingers high during "Two Words," turning the intimate Rave Bar into a chorus of shared excitement.
“My name is Kolby Cooper; we come from East Texas to be up here. It’s a real long fu*king ways man. We are so stoked to be here, it’s one of the most legendary venues on the planet, man; we are so fu*king excited to be here.”
Kolby brought a mix of new material and familiar favorites, blending tracks like "If I Still Had It" and "Leave Me My Heart" with crowd-pleasers such as his 2021 hit "Excuses." During "Hate You Too," the band surprised everyone with a spirited cover of Weezer's "Say It Ain’t So," a playful nod that had the room erupting. Kolby Cooper crafted a setlist that showcased the depth and evolution of his music over the years, offering something for every kind of fan. He didn’t shy away from including tracks that weren’t part of his previous tour, giving the Milwaukee crowd a fresh experience with songs like "Breaking News" and "One Night Stand." These additions were met with enthusiastic voices from the audience, who sang along as if they’d been part of the set all along.
Amid the high-energy performances, Kolby Cooper opened up to the Milwaukee crowd, creating some of the most touching moments of the night. He shared a deeply personal story about his dad, who passed away from brain cancer, reflecting on the bond they shared over shows like *King of the Hill*. To honor that connection, Kolby played the show’s theme song prior to his song “Take It from Hank”, a gesture that resonated with the audience on a heartfelt level. Kolby Cooper's performance brought an intimate glimpse into his life as a family man, weaving personal stories into his music that resonated deeply with the Milwaukee crowd. "Boy From Anderson County" painted a vivid picture of his journey with his high school sweetheart, offering fans a tender look at the roots of their relationship. The emotional depth continued with "Every Single Kiss," the first song he ever released, showcasing the love and memories that have shaped his life.
“I have 3 kiddos back in the house. We got 2 girls and a little boy, and I'm so blessed. All that I wanted whenever I was a kid. I had 2 dreams. One of them was to have a family that I could call my own. The other was to play live music for a living, and we're up here in fucking Milwaukee. A bunch of Texas boys. So, we're blessed. Truly, we're blessed, but it is still super hard. Raising babies over FaceTime and watching them grow up over Snapchat and all that, and if you work a job that takes you away from your babies, that takes you away from the people you want to be around, you know what I'm talking about. It gets hard. But these 90 minutes, this 90 minutes every night that we get up here on stage, is what makes it worth it. Every single one of y'all coming out and singing the songs and partying with us is what makes this shit worth it for every single one of us. So thank you so much for helping support our dreams and helping spread the word, man, and if you have some kiddos back at the house, make sure you treat them right. Be a good fucking parent. There's nothing worse than you can be than a shitty parent to a kid. You know, you're their hero. So that's my challenge to you. If you got babies, go love on them babies, and here's a song. It's my favorite song from the last record we put out. It's the title track.”
Kolby’s heartfelt connection to his family shone brightest during "Love You, Goodnight," as he opened up about the difficulty of being away from his children while on tour. The crowd hung on every word, feeling the weight of his longing and the love he holds for his kids. This moment of vulnerability created a powerful bond between Kolby and his fans, one that lingered as he poured emotion into every note, showing just how much his family inspires his artistry.
Another powerful moment came when Kolby shared how a couple in the audience had chosen "Fall" as their first dance song. The intimacy of the moment, paired with Kolby’s genuine appreciation, felt like a connection between artist and fans that went beyond the music. It was raw, honest, and deeply human, a reminder of how personal stories can make a live show unforgettable. From heartfelt ballads to high-energy anthems, Kolby seamlessly shifted between the two, keeping the crowd engaged and emotionally connected throughout the night. Tracks like "Under My Skin" and "Diamond Rings & Cocaine" cranked the energy up, while more introspective moments, such as "Running Away," drew listeners in closer. The balance in pacing felt intentional, giving the night a sense of flow that carried fans through a full spectrum of emotions.
What stood out most was how Kolby’s choices felt deeply personal yet universally relatable. He took the audience on a journey, weaving stories of love, loss, and resilience through his lyrics, all while delivering the kind of powerful performance that left a lasting impression. Every song felt like it belonged, and every moment felt significant. Kolby Cooper ended the night with a finale that was nothing short of unforgettable. As the band dove into "It Ain't Me," the room exploded with energy, fans cheering and singing along with everything they had left. The raw power of the performance, combined with Kolby’s unwavering passion, created a moment that felt electric, leaving no doubt that he had truly left his mark on Milwaukee.
